Why Drivelo exists

A few years ago, getting a driving lesson in Melbourne meant booking through a big-brand school that charged a sign-up fee, locked you into a package, took 25 to 30 cents from every dollar your instructor earned, and held the money for a month.

The instructors did all the work. The platform took the credit. The learners paid more.

Drivelo started because we believed the same marketplace model that worked for accommodation, food, transport and trades — direct, transparent, fairly priced — had not yet been built for driving instruction in Australia.

So we built it.

What Drivelo does differently

Transparent pricing

One all-in price set by the instructor. No platform fees. No surprise surcharges at checkout. Learners see exactly what they pay before they book.

Five-layer verification — before any instructor goes live

Authority check. WWCC. Identity match. Vehicle and insurance. We verify all five before a listing is visible to learners.

A fair-deal commission

15% flat. Lowest in Melbourne. Instructors keep 85% of every lesson. Paid weekly on Tuesday via Stripe — no 30-day holds.

Real reviews from real learners

Only learners who have completed a lesson can leave a review. No paid placements. No bought ratings. The order of instructors in your search is not for sale.

Independent instructors, not employees

Every instructor on Drivelo sets their own price, hours and service area. Drivelo is the marketplace. The instructor is the business.
